We Are Here

You have been entrusted with an incredible gift.

Thanks to your efforts, your community of faith has received a pledge of a legacy gift. More than a declaration of money, a legacy gift is a statement of faith and trust in you and your church. Legacy gifts are only made because you—and others like you—have worked hard to make your church a place where people feel that they belong.

Stewarding your legacy gift

A legacy gift is only possible thanks to the powerful relationship between you and your donor. You know better than anyone the best way to say “Thank you”, but if the words aren’t coming easily, here are some prompts:

Write an annual card.

Send a “Thank You” every Legacy Sunday to reassure the donor their gift is cherished and not forgotten.

Write a thank you letter.

What does the gift mean to your church? Draw attention to real benefits the gift will have.

Publicly thank your donor.

Legacy gifts often go unannounced and un-celebrated. Instead, celebrate with the donor.

Honour the reason behind the gift. Is the gift made in honour of a loved one?
If so, include them in all your thank yous.
